    Flush — Flush

A Flush is 5 cards of the same suit — not sequential. In Hold'em it's a popular and strong hand: it beats a straight, three of a kind and two pair.

    How is this hand made?

A flush is made from 5 cards of the same suit (spades, hearts, diamonds or clubs). The suit itself does not matter — a spade flush equals a heart flush if the high card is the same. The best possible flush is the "Nut Flush", a flush containing the Ace of that suit.

Strategy — how to play it

Beware "flush over flush" — if 3–4 cards of the same suit are on the board and you hold a low flush, an opponent holding the Ace of that suit beats you. Play the nut flush aggressively; play a small flush cautiously.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Which flush wins when two players have one?
The highest card in the flush decides. If the top card is identical, move to the second-highest, and so on.
Does a flush beat a straight?
Yes. Ranking order: flush > straight. A flush is statistically rarer and therefore stronger.
    What is a "Nut Flush"?
The highest possible flush in a given situation — usually a flush containing the Ace of that suit. A very strong pot-building hand.
